We offer instruction in the following types of traditional martial arts:
Aikido (“way of spiritual harmony”) is a Japanese martial arts that combines the techniques of a variety of martial arts forms (jujitsu, fencing and combat spear) with a strong spiritual belief in love, peace and harmony. Aikido practitioners train to subdue, rather than maim or kill but many of the movements can nevertheless be deadly. Aikido especially emphasizes the importance of achieving complete mental calm and control of one’s own body to master an opponent’s attack. As in other martial arts, the development of courtesy and respect is an integral part of aikido training. Aikido teach a combination of strikes, pins, joint locks, and throwing techniques that help the student harness the energy of the attacker to subdue them. Jo(stick), bokken(wooden sword) and tanto(knife) techniques are part of the aikido syllabus. Aikido is mainly defensive.
TaeKwonDo is an ancient Korean martial arts discipline that involves dynamic hand and foot movements and emphasizes the synchronization of the movements with the mind and spirit. The instructors at our Center are fully qualified and are professional.
Sun style internal martial arts has stood the test of time since our great master Sun Lu Tang 孙禄堂 developed the system almost 100 years ago. We are fortunate to have been part of the disciples that carries his legacy to South East Asia. The Malaysia study group has been extremely supportive towards moving the art since its introduction in Kuala Lumpur. At the moment we only emphasis on the study of Xingyi and Bagua.
